Garrett Unfit for Office

The CCDCC would like you to consider the following when casting your vote this November;

Casey Garrett is running for Columbia County Commissioner, Position 3, and has explicitly made his experience as a Columbia County employee an important part of his campaign.

Through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the Columbia County personnel file of Mr. Garrett was acquired and is considered by the Multnomah County District Attorney (that handled the FOIA request) as appropriate for public release.

The personnel files indicate that Mr. Garrett was reprimanded for ineffective management of staff and misconduct, including lying when questioned about an incident that occurred at the jail, and the use of racial slurs.  

The files also contain staff grievances and his required mediation.  We do not think his record indicates the type of experience, qualities, or values that would serve the Columbia County public.
